Fall, finally...

[bag Celine, shirt Club Monaco, jeans Madewell, mohair scarf Missoni, shoes Belle by Sigerson Morrison, ring Aldo]

These pictures were taken at the end of one of the best weekends in a long time.. There's something about a crazy busy week - it makes you appreciate the weekend so much more doesn't it?

Definitely sweater weather, but I don't have any sweaters, and a long day of fruitless shopping around for one has sort of put me in an anti-sweater mood... It won't last for long, I know, but in the meanwhile, I've decided to focus my time and energy on finding some good vintage fur, (any recommendations?) and scarves...

Slightly obsessed with this sarf. I love that this isn't the usual Missoni wave knit, and it's soft and warm enough to get me through snow storms...

Completely obsessed with these shoes.. I have six pairs! (in different colors of course)..
But it's really not as crazy as it sounds - they're super comfortable and look perfect with every piece of clothing I own..

Do you have something that you've stocked up on?
Email me at chartreuse.chiffon@gmail.com :)
I want to hear all about it!

Corduroy...

[corduroy shirt - Club Monaco's men's section, jeans - Madewell, belt - Club Monaco, cuff - vintage, shoes - Oscar de la Renta]

I've been going through a phase where I feel like dressing down more often than not - which should be easy enough..

But what with the weather being so fickle, I don't feel like leaving the house without a warm shirt or a sweater, just in case..

I'm ashamed to admit to don't really have any of either.. Well, nothing I haven't worn a million times anyway...

Which left with me the option of raiding Raghu's closet..

Such a great idea. So satisfying, because I managed to cut my fall shopping list in half..

You'll be seeing me in a lot of fun men's clothing this fall! :) Watch this space!

Wasp

[silk blouse Club Monaco, jeans Madewell, scarf Anokhi, shoes Balenciaga, watch Lucien Piccard, bracelets Aldo, J.Crew & MOMA store]

The weather's been acting up as always. Almost like it can't decide whether its fall or still summer. So I have black (for fall) and neon yellow (summer colors!)...

Best of both worlds?

Also, any resemblance to a wasp/bumble bee was totally unintentional.

I mean, come on - what fashionable person doesn't want to look like an angry wasp???

 Very chic, no?

NO???

Alright, lets agree to disagree.

Today's been a long long day involving many dirty dishes, a million loads of laundry and one large vacuum cleaner.

I know, I know. I lead such an exciting life and you're jealous. Who isn't, really?

There was also one smelly dog and a very splashy bath, but this is hardly the place to discuss animal hygiene.

Or is it?

But when a day ends with Raghu coming home and a good meal, I really have nothing to complain about..

Alright everyone, I'm going to call it a day now...

Time for one last cup of tea and a couple of chapters  (Saramago has me wishing I knew Portugese)..

Good night (or morning) guys!

And if you need someone to talk you through bathing your dog or a wasp attack, you know who to call!

Blue.... and pink and purple!!!

This is the result of quickly shopping my closet.. Always surprised by how old pieces of clothing can come together in totally new ways.

Managed to hit a lot of this year's trends with this look - monochrome, color blocking, neon...

You'd definitely turn and look if I passed you on the street! If only to shade your eyes because the colors hurt :D

Before the deluge

[shirt Theory, pants Club Monaco, clutch and shoes Aldo, ring YSL, watch Cartier]

Do you like my shoes?? My purple, almost-stripper shoes??

They cheer me up.

And I needed that today. First, my mother left for India and then I found out that it's going to be raining on Thursday. FNO ruined!!!!

And do you like how I tried to keep things from getting too sleazy by wearing my go to almost-formal pants?

Can you tell I put a lot of thought into these things??

The lengths I go to just for you guys. I've earned a reward I think... NO?
New boots should just about do it.
Oh yes.

Zephyr

[skirt and racerback tank Club Monaco, boots Alexander Wang, necklace Marc by Marc Jacobs]

I'll let you in on a secret... I'm a little addicted to pleated silk....
And maxis...

So, today was the perfect day for this skirt!!

Sunny with just a bit of a breeze... (Until it suddenly got all dark and cloudy and started pouring that is.. But that's another story)

As I mentioned in an earlier post my parents are visiting...

Among other things (like grilled cheese sandwiches and great books), my mother and I both adore shopping :)

Last week, when we at Club Monaco, we both spotted this skirt the minute we walked into the store and fell in love with it..

It's probably the most versatile maxi I have, I can dress it down for the day or step it up with the right jewelry and clutch for dinner out.

I know everyone's been making pleated maxis this year, but I love that this version has fabric that's slightly thick, so it'll be perfect even through fall...

Right now though, I refuse to think about summer ending....

Unless it's shopping for a new fall wardrobe! When do you want to go?

NEON!!

[silk shirt Equipment, belt Gap, lace skirt & shell necklace Club Monaco, tree of life necklace Satya, ring Aldo, clutch vintage]

It was such a beautiful summer day outside last week. Blue skies and emerald grass - jewel tones everywhere!
On days like that last thing I wanted to do is blend in.

Now for the summer trends checklist -

Colorblocking - check.
Lace skirt - check.
Neon - Hell yes!
