Just in!!!

 [boots - Jeffrey Campbell]

The day these boots shipped, the weather went from being chilly to unbearably hot. Murphy's law indeed. Anyway, I can't wait for it to go back to being fall so I can wear these with the new sweater I bought!

Fall, finally...

[bag Celine, shirt Club Monaco, jeans Madewell, mohair scarf Missoni, shoes Belle by Sigerson Morrison, ring Aldo]

These pictures were taken at the end of one of the best weekends in a long time.. There's something about a crazy busy week - it makes you appreciate the weekend so much more doesn't it?

Definitely sweater weather, but I don't have any sweaters, and a long day of fruitless shopping around for one has sort of put me in an anti-sweater mood... It won't last for long, I know, but in the meanwhile, I've decided to focus my time and energy on finding some good vintage fur, (any recommendations?) and scarves...

Slightly obsessed with this sarf. I love that this isn't the usual Missoni wave knit, and it's soft and warm enough to get me through snow storms...

Completely obsessed with these shoes.. I have six pairs! (in different colors of course)..
But it's really not as crazy as it sounds - they're super comfortable and look perfect with every piece of clothing I own..

Do you have something that you've stocked up on?
Email me at chartreuse.chiffon@gmail.com :)
I want to hear all about it!

Corduroy...

[corduroy shirt - Club Monaco's men's section, jeans - Madewell, belt - Club Monaco, cuff - vintage, shoes - Oscar de la Renta]

I've been going through a phase where I feel like dressing down more often than not - which should be easy enough..

But what with the weather being so fickle, I don't feel like leaving the house without a warm shirt or a sweater, just in case..

I'm ashamed to admit to don't really have any of either.. Well, nothing I haven't worn a million times anyway...

Which left with me the option of raiding Raghu's closet..

Such a great idea. So satisfying, because I managed to cut my fall shopping list in half..

You'll be seeing me in a lot of fun men's clothing this fall! :) Watch this space!

LFW

While it is kind of obvious that I love fashion, I will be the first to admit that this blog has made me pay wayy more attention to runway shows than I ever did.

Which basically mean that this is the first year that I've ever checked in on whats happening during fashion weeks all over the world..

And boy, am I glad I did!
I'm learning so much about designers that I didn't know about / didn't pay much attention to (clearly a mistake, that)..

Two shows that I fell in love with from London Fashion Week were Sass & Bide and Simone Rocha - for completely different reasons.

For me, the perfect collection has that balance of art, beauty and wearability. And when you know that the clothes will make everyone in the room sit back and pay attention, you have a winner.

While I'm hard pressed to pick a favorite, I will say that I can see myself wearing almost every piece from the Sass & Bide show..
The genius of Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton transalated into acrylic neons and clean, flowing lines, with sleek chignons and minimal make up on the runway.
If I ever win the jackpot, this is the collection I'll blow all my money on!

And yes, I believe that the team at Sass & Bide were clearly inspired by African Greys...

Come on. Don't tell me you don't see the resemblance!

Simone Rocha was a different bird altogteher (no pun intended. Really)..

What I loved was the juxtaposition of old school lace and clear plastic...

So functional (is it a dress? is it a raincoat?? is it a lace doily??), and definitely something I'd wear if I wanted to push the envelope just a little bit...

And it wasn't just the clothes!! The clear bag with lace detailing already has me looking for the perfect wallet and make-up kit to go inside it..

And the shoes!!!!

While I loved the idea of the plastic uppers, what really caught my eye (and went on my definitely-buying-come-spring list) was that pair of open-toe, lace-up wedges with a clear upper. Sigh... those shoes leave me speechless...

Wasp

[silk blouse Club Monaco, jeans Madewell, scarf Anokhi, shoes Balenciaga, watch Lucien Piccard, bracelets Aldo, J.Crew & MOMA store]

The weather's been acting up as always. Almost like it can't decide whether its fall or still summer. So I have black (for fall) and neon yellow (summer colors!)...

Best of both worlds?

Also, any resemblance to a wasp/bumble bee was totally unintentional.

I mean, come on - what fashionable person doesn't want to look like an angry wasp???

 Very chic, no?

NO???

Alright, lets agree to disagree.

Today's been a long long day involving many dirty dishes, a million loads of laundry and one large vacuum cleaner.

I know, I know. I lead such an exciting life and you're jealous. Who isn't, really?

There was also one smelly dog and a very splashy bath, but this is hardly the place to discuss animal hygiene.

Or is it?

But when a day ends with Raghu coming home and a good meal, I really have nothing to complain about..

Alright everyone, I'm going to call it a day now...

Time for one last cup of tea and a couple of chapters  (Saramago has me wishing I knew Portugese)..

Good night (or morning) guys!

And if you need someone to talk you through bathing your dog or a wasp attack, you know who to call!
